This site writes about one of the internet’s most misread gene variants. That position demands stricter editorial discipline, not looser: these are the rules every page follows.
Evidence selection
This site prefers primary literature, trial registries, allele-frequency databases and professional guidelines. Marketing material is excluded from the evidence base. Every reference is verified against the original source before publication; the bibliographic data (citations, PMIDs, DOIs, URLs) on this site was fetch-verified against PubMed and ClinicalTrials.gov on 2026-08-09.
Use of primary sources
Every scientific claim links to the original source — PubMed records, ClinicalTrials.gov entries, the gnomAD resource — and the references library states, per source, what it supports and what it does not show. Citation markers throughout the site resolve to that library, so no claim floats free of its evidence.
Established findings versus open questions
The site maintains an explicit boundary between what published research establishes and what remains open. The domain architecture of MTHFR and the trial record of homocysteine lowering are established; the clinical meaning of A1298C on its own is an open question, and it is labelled as one wherever it appears. Hypotheses are labelled as hypotheses.
